Oracle CONVERT function
The Oracle/PLSQL CONVERT function converts a string from one character set to another.
CONVERT function syntax
CONVERT( string1_id , char_set_to_id , [ char_set_from_id ] )
Parameters or arguments
- string1_id – line for conversion.
- char_set_to_id – is a character set to be converted to.
- char_set_from_id is a character set to be converted from.
The CONVERT function returns a string value in a specific character set. The following character sets are available:

| WE8PC850 | IBM PC Code Page 850 |
| WE8ISO8859P1 | ISO 8859-1 West European 8-bit character set |
