SQL Data Types
SQL provides a list of common SQL data types. These data types may not be supported by all relational databases.

| numeric(p,s) | Where p is the accuracy value; s is the scale value. For example, a number (6,2) is a number that has 4 digits before the point and 2 digits after the point. |
| decimal(p,s) | Where p is the accuracy value; s is the scale value. |
| real | Floating point number with single precision |
| double precision | Floating point number with double precision |
| float(p) | Where p is the value of accuracy. |
| char(x) | Where x is the number of characters to store. This data type is supplemented by spaces to fill in the specified number of characters. |
| varchar(x) | Where x is the number of characters to store. This data type is NOT a space. |
| bit(x) | Where x is the number of bits to store. |
| bit varying(x) | Where x is the number of bits to store. Length can vary up to x. |
| date | Keeps the values of year, month and day. |
| time | Stores the hours, minutes and seconds. |
| timestamp | Stores the values of year, month, day, hour, minute and second. |
| time with time zone | The same as time, but also keeps the offset from UTC of the specified time. |
| timestamp with time zone | The same as timestamp, but also keeps the offset from UTC of the specified time. |
| year-month interval | Contains the year value, month value or value. |
| day-time interval | Contains the day value, hour value, minute value and/or second value. |
