SQLS*Plus is as a versatile and extremely efficient SQL developer and production database administrator instrument. It is also a very efficient tool for complex SQL Server reporting and automation tasks.

SQLS*Plus enables flexible data formatting with “set linesize”, “set pagesize” commands, report titles, report data grouping, aggregation, and many other extremely useful report formatting features.

SQLS*Plus supports use of variables (var, define, &, &&), interactively accepts user input into variables, spools data into TEXT, HTML, CSV and JSON output. Lots of other advanced functionality available, such as BREAK and COMPUTE reporting functionality.

This functionality is not available for  a standard SQL Server tools.
